HEAL • ADVOCATE • EDUCATE

Our Mission

  • HEALING & WHOLENESS:  We are a building a community that pursues a whole health paradigm, seeing healing come to the body, mind and spirit as a whole.  Though we would love to cover a broad range of issues, in this season our focus is on topics of special interest to women and trauma survivors.
  • ADVOCACY & AWARENESS: We seek to advocate and create awareness on topics relevant to a society that is hurting.  Through being forthcoming about the truth of what we deal with as women, mothers, wives, friends, within ministry, outside of ministry, home and workplace... including our realities of simply trying to "be". Also covering realities that are related to trauma, especially sexual trauma and abuse.  We seek to break the silence, stigma and shame surrounding  sexual abuse and trauma that is under-reported and under-discussed, such as the abuse that occurs in medical establishments.
  • EDUCATION & EMPOWERMENT: We seek to educate and empower through using facts, information and community to help those suffering in silence.  We are creating a community where victims become overcomers empowered to find their own voice and regain the sense of self that was stolen through trauma.  We also seek to mobilize survivors to create sustainable and permanent change in our cities, counties, states and governments.  We refuse to give in to a culture of fear and will teach others to refuse it too so that we can STOP the cycles of deception, shame and victimization.  The problem is not with the ones that hide in shame. It's with the ones that shame them into hiding.  Together we will fight cultural stigmas around abuse and through education empower present and future generations to stand up and be safe.

Owning our story can be hard but not nearly as difficult as spending our lives running from it. Embracing our vulnerabilities is risky but not nearly as dangerous as giving up on love and belonging and joy—the experiences that make us the most vulnerable. Only when we are brave enough to explore the darkness will we discover the infinite power of our light.
